Thoughts-Praises-Memories-Regrets- Who I am? Who I was meant to be! This is for my Daughters, Sons and Grandchildren - I would want them to learn of the things in my life that were most important to me. I am prayerful that they will know of my passions. I wish to share some of the music of all types that touch me, that tugs at my deepest emotions and express longings of intimacy and love. When words fail me music opens windows to the expressive soul.

VJ Day -August 14,1945 Hawaii -Lost Film
Wonderful pics, and how great that someone saved these home movies, taken on 8mm or probably 16mm film, that now have been dowloaded into a computer, had background music added, and made available to all of us
Remember, we had no TV and what we saw in the way of movies was on the newsreels. Notice how the shore patrol is sort of ignoring the great celebration. I wonder how many of these young men fell off of the cars and trucks that day. Thanks to those heroes and thanks for the modern technology that can help us remember them.
Lost Film (1945)
This is great! JDA
The last time that the US celebrated the end of a war!!!!
Very cool!!
A bit of history and Jimmy Durante, too.
Honolulu, August 14, 1945.
JUST THINK HOW THIS YOUNG LADY FELT WHEN SHE DISCOVERED THE VIDEO HER FATHER SHOT.
Great video of a Spontaneous Victory Parade in Honolulu in 1945. Take a look at this video-absolutely fabulous! Notice the cars, jeeps, and youth. The guys in khaki or gray shirts and black ties are Navy officers or chiefs. The rest are Army or Marine. How young they all were to do what they did. This guy really captured a moment in history! (You can listen to Jimmy Durante singing "I'll be Seeing You" in the background, too) This is a super video of a time past - we need to remember and be THANKFUL.
Check out the color fidelity. It's not bad for 1945. Nothing will ever compare with Kodachrome film.
